Army and Army Reserve: Emergency Physician

Duties and Responsibilities: An Emergency Physician has to treat Soldiers as soon as they are injured.  They have to identify the injury and treat the injury.  They also have to research certain diseases that can affect those who are serving in the army.  More responsibilities come with this career such as training others and teaching them what it will take to be an Emergency Physician and to exercise commands by the law in medical units.

Salary: Emergency Physicians can make up to $227,093 to $312,110 a year.

Education:  You have to have a doctor in medicine/osteopathy from a U.S. school in order to serve in the army as an Emergency Physician.  Besides this, there are other requirements to becoming an Emergency Physician.  You must be 21 years of age, you must be a U.S. citizen, and you must complete a training program in emergency medicine.

Demand for this profession:  The number of jobs for this profession in the years 2014-2024 is 708,300.  This is expected to change by 14%, more than average, by the year 2024.

-I would not like to serve in the army as an Emergency Physician because it is too much pressure for me and I am not interested in a career in medicine.
