When you are caught in a situation where you have to think fast, make sure that you think about the decision you are going to make.  For example, if a cop pulls you over unexpectedly, make the right decision by being respectful.  It is important that we always have kindness in our hearts.  It is important that we always have a clear mind in order to make the right decisions.  I think that Roosevelt was trying to say that you always have to choose the right.  No matter what is happening, always choose the right and always make a good decision.  Especially when the decisions you make will affect you and other people in the future.  You have to think about consequences, whether they be good or bad.  You also have to think about the people you love, including yourself.   Roosevelt is saying that it is important to think rationally.  It is important to make the right decision.
