Chiropractor

Duties and Responsibilities:  Chiropractors specialize in problems that relate to the bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendon. They examine parts of the body belonging to the skeletal system, like the spine.  They have to meet with a patient before recommending any treatment for the patient.  Their job is to examine and review their patients, and treat them with the medical attention they need.

Salary:  The average salary for a chiropractor is $31,120 to $142,570.  Their salary can depend on what type of chiropractor they are and also how much they charge patients to treat them.

Education:  To become a chiropractor, you need to receive the Doctor of Chiropractic degree,  which can take up to 4 years.  Many students that wish to become chiropractors take classes in anatomy and chemistry, and other courses involving science.

Demand for this profession:  The number of jobs for chiropractors in the years 2014-2024 is expected to be 45,200.  The percent change for this job for the years 2014-2024 is 17%.

Do you think you would like to be one?  Why or Why not?
I would not like to be a chiropractor because I am not interested in a career that requires me to learn anything about medicine.  All my life, I’ve never demonstrated interest to any career having to do with science.
