Optometry Technician  
Image result for optometry technicianDuties and Responsibilities: The number one duty of an optometry technician is to assist optometrist with any help that they may need.  This varies from working with patients to preparing exam schedules.  Optometry technicians work with patients as well as work with optometrists in order to make sure that an examination room is ready or that exam schedules are accurate.  Without an optometry technician to assist them, optometrists would have a hard time doing their job effectively.   
Salary: An optometry technician earns on average, about 22,260$ annually.    

Education: You need to have a high school diploma in order to become and optometry technician.  Having an associates degree and having taken courses in optics or physiology of the eye will better your chances of employment.  

Demand for this profession: The number of jobs for optometry technicians in the years 2014-2024 is 75,200.  The employment rate for an optometry technician is expected to grow by 24% in the years 2014-2024.
