Nursing Home Administrator  

Image result for nursing home administratorDuties and Responsibilities: A Nursing Home Administrator is responsible for supervising clinical nursing homes and related facilities.  A NHA has to supervise other staff and administrative financial matters.  Some positions as a NHA may require more duties.  A NHA is required to take care of medical finances as well as keeping track of important records and documents.  The most important task when it comes to this job is to make sure that staff is doing their job.   

Salary:  NHA's can make up to $94,500 a year.  

Education: To become and NHA, a years bachelors degree is required.  It also a requirement to pass the state licensing exam.  Some courses to take if you are considering a career in nursing-home administration are gerontology, long-term care, and health behavior.  

Demand for this profession: The employment rate for this job is expected to grow by 17% in the years 2014-2024. 

Do you think you would like to be one? Why?  Why not?  I would not like to be a Nursing Home Administrator because this career is simply not appealing to me.  I don’t think that this career suits me as a person, which is why I wouldn't consider pursuing it.
