Optician  

Duties and Responsibilities: Opticians help clients and patients choose eyeglasses frames and lenses.  Opticians are responsible for building a healthy patient-doctor bond with their clients.  They are responsible for keeping up with trends and letting patients know what suits them best.  Including this task, opticians have to deal with many other tasks such as assisting optometrists and repairing broken frames.  They are also in charge of making sure that frame orders are correct and precise.   

Salary: Opticians can earn up to 34, 840$ a year.  

Education: The education required for this profession is a associates or bachelors degree and on-the-job training.  You must also be certified by the American Board of Opticianry and National Contact Lens Examiners. 

Demand for this profession: The number of jobs for this profession in the years 2014-2024 is 75, 200.  This rate is expected to grow 24% in the years 2014-2024.

This quote does not just apply to sports, but also life.  Whenever you are contemplating doing something bad, you have to ask yourself: "Will the long term repercussions be worth it?"  For example, if you are having problems at home and you want to smoke weed to "forget about those problems', sure you might feel good instantly.  But after those 20, 30 minutes of being "high", you will feel exactly the same.  You have to thing "Is doing this REALLY going to help me?  Will it help me in any way?"  The answer is...NO.   You must always think about the consequences of your actions.  At the end of the day, the person you are causing the most harm to is yourself.  In life, good choices lead to good consequences and bad choices lead to bad consequences.  You have to remember to always think about the potential long-term pain you could be causing to yourself and to others.

In order for yourself and others to know that you are a person of integrity, you have to speak the truth.  When you say something out loud, you hold yourself accountable for whatever it is that you said.  That is why this quote is important.  For example, instead of saying "I didn’t cheat on the test", you should say "I won't cheat on the test" before-hand.  The quote is plain and simple: don’t cheat.  Cheating is an ugly action that causes no good to anyone.  You have to know that cheating will not get you anywhere far in life.  I think that what Murphy was trying to say is that when you cheat. You can never take it back.  It is an action that will show people that you are untrustworthy and unreliable.  I think that cheating is something that many people regret right after they do it.  Do not cheat, because it will always be with you.

A lot of people in life are living for all of the wrong reasons.  Some people want fame, money, riches, love, etc.  But what most people tend to forget is that what matters the most in life is who we are and what we define ourselves as.  Whether you live in a mansion, or on the street; whether you have a Bugatti or a Honda Civic, what matters is what lies inside you.  Your character is what will take you through life on a high or low ride.  You cannot go through life wanting and wishing for fancy things, because those things will not matter when you die.  There is a quote that says: "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget the way you made them feel."  This quote also stresses the importance of how important it is to have good character.  You can build your character by accomplishing great things such as volunteering or tutoring other people.  Your character is what will help you or prevent you from sleeping at night.  In order to be able to live gracefully and peacefully, you have to remember that your character matters the most.  

St. Patrick's Day 

Saint Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland.  Most people believe that St. Patrick was Irish, but that is false.  He was born in Britain, which is a fact.  He is most known in the Christian community for converting the Irish into Christianity.  The purpose of Saint Patrick's Day is to honor "the Day of the Festival of Patrick" as well as honor St. Patrick because March 17th is his death date.  St. Patrick's Day is celebrate on March 17th every year because that is the day that St. Patrick died.  Many people wear green on this day in order to give honor to Ireland.  Green is the primary color of Ireland, and it is common for people to wear traditional or nontraditional Irish clothing on St. Patrick's Day.  An interesting fact about this holiday is that if you do not wear green, people are supposed to pinch you.  St. Patrick's Day is celebrated to honor Saint Patrick and Ireland.

This quote reminds me of another quote that goes like this: "Every ocean starts with a drop of water."  What I interpret from this quote is that what we do today, whether we are aware of it or not, can affect us and the people around us.  Everything we do sets life in motion.  This is why it is important to choose the right every day, to be kind every day.  What we do today may change someone else's life forever.  If you see someone on the street and you like their style, tell them.  A little compliment or kind gesture stays with people forever.  To me, it is important to stay positive throughout all the hardships in life.  This quote is letting me know, reminding me, that it is important to live every day with energy and with grace.  Whatever we do today, will affect us tomorrow.  Whatever we do tomorrow, will affect someone else.  The cycle goes on and on and on.  Remember to always be positive and kind ig you want to make a difference that will last forever.
