Integrity is a personality trait that not many people have.  Why?  Because integrity takes all of those three things listed above, and most people do not know how to do them.  Integrity is important in ourselves and in life because it is what can make us good or bad.  For example, having the courage to say no makes us wiser.  When we can think for ourselves and realize that we have free will, we will be much stronger mentally.  No one can force us to do anything we do not want to do.  Having the courage to face the truth allows us to have peace.  Lies cause stress and worry and negativity.  The truth may not always be pleasant, but it is better to know the actual truth than to think a lie is the truth.  Finally, the last one is the most important to me.  Most people in this world are selfish.  They do the right thing for a reward, a cash price, or to impress people.  When in reality, doing the right thing should be done because it is right.  We should do the right thing because it is simply the right thing to do, and because we know and feel in our hearts that it is the right thing to do.  Integrity consists of these three things because these three things help us live a happy life.

I do not believe that who your friends are is who you are, nor do i believe that having friends who do bad things will lead you to do bad things.  We all have free will and we all know the difference between right and wrong.  No matter who we hang out with, whether they be good or bad,   we make our own decisions and choices.  However, this quote is saying that the people who surround ourselves with are  important because they impact our lives.  Which is true.  It is important to have good and positive people in your life, so that your life does not have anybody negative trying to come in and bring you down.  I do believe that we must surround ourselves with people who make us happy and who love us unconditionally.  I like this quote because it has a bigger meaning then just “don't do bad things”.  The meaning behind this quote is that people will come and go, good and bad people, but we choose who we let stay in our life.  And we should choose people who make us happy.

Every time we do something good, we feel better about ourselves.  This quote is saying that helping others and being kind is the best kind of medicine.  In order to feel brand new or to re-create ourselves, being kind helps that.  Not only doing good things for others, but also for yourself.  It is important that we are kind to ourselves as well.  For example, whenever you feel like you just need to relax, it helps to read.  It calms you down and helps you relax.  In order for us to feel good, we must do good.

To me, this quote kind of defines the law of the universe.  There are just some things in life that will never be changed.  Now, this quote is saying that we must have the common sense to know what is wrong and what is right.  Because no matter how many people stand together, if they are standing for something wrong, it will always be wrong.  Doing the right thing will always be the right thing.  Each person had their own little twist on the definitions of wrong and right.  But it is what it is.  RIght is right and wrong is wrong.  I think this quote is trying to tell us that even if we stand alone, if we are doing the right thing, we are powerful.  And even if we stand with a thousand people, if we are doing the wrong thing, we are not powerful.  Stand up for what  is right, even if you have to stand alone.

I love this quote.  I have read it before, so it doesn’t surprise me that we have it as one of our SSS’s.  I love what this quote is saying.  It is saying that we need to think about our future.  What we want now, we will not want in 5 minutes.  But what we want most, we will want it until we get it.  This is why it is important to write down our goals.  Because our goals are what we desire most in life.  Sometimes people think that a “want is just a “want”.  But in fact, it isn’t.  When we want something so bad, and then we finally achieve it or get that, we feel satisfied.  So, in reality, our wants are our needs.  What people want most in life is something that they should work towards every single day.  We need to focus on our goals because they are what can make or break us.  

          

Homecoming

Homecoming is a tradition.  All over the U.S., places like schools and colleges (usually in late September or October), have a “Homecoming” to welcome back students to the new school year.

History: Homecoming goes back all the way to the 19th century.  It started a long, long time ago.  Most of the time, the sport that is set to represent a Homecoming is football.  Football has been around for many years, which means that Homecoming stemmed from that sport.  It is to show pride in your school or college, and to HAVE FUN.

Why do we celebrate Homecoming?:  We celebrate homecoming because it is like the official “Welcome” to everyone.  It is to make everyone get excited about the new school year, and to make everyone feel like they are “home” at school.  We also celebrate this to take pride in previous school years.  Homecoming is celebrated simply to let everyone know they are welcome, and to make them feel at home.

Events and Activities:  Homecoming involves three major things.  That is the Homecoming Game, the Homecoming Dance, and the Homecoming Queen and King (or Court).  The Homecoming Game is usually a home game, and there is also (usually) a parade float involved.  A parade float that shows school spirit and that has the school colors/mascot/logo on it.  The Homecoming Dance is the Friday of, or the Saturday following, the Homecoming Game.  There is music, dancing, and usually a theme involved.  The Homecoming Queen and King, or Court is first nominated then elected.  People who are part of the school nominate a King and a Queen, and whoever receives the most nominations, becomes a nominee.  Once they are nominated, people can vote on who becomes Queen and King.  Some schools may also include a Prince and a Princess, and that will become a Homecoming Court.

My Opinion:  I am a very positive and bubble person, which means that I have a lot of school spirit!!  I love Homecoming.  I love wearing school colors, and having pride in the school that I go to.

    To me, this quote is really important.  I feel that this quote is absolutely correct in what it says.  A good name is something to be proud of.  It is something that we are known for, something that people use to identify us.  I think that we must spend time trying to love ourselves and understand ourselves.  When we know who we are as people, we will then make a good name for ourselves.  A good name is known as life's greatest achievement because it takes years and years of hard work and dedication to build up a good name.  We must do what is right and do what our heart tells us is right.  We must do the kind thing out of the kindness of our hearts.  Our name is really important, which is why it is said to be one of the greatest achievements.  For example, the person who said this, Coach K, made a good name for himself.  He is a famous basketball coach, and why?  Because he is a person of integrity and a person who decided that before being a basketball coach, or anything/one for that matter, he was going to be a good person.  THAT is how he made a good name for himself.
